Since the launch of Breakthrough in 2016, we have been carrying out studies with Chris Bennett at Wood Green – The Animals Charity – in Godmanchester, to demonstrate the results that Breakthrough produces. Chris Bennett has an update on three of the dogs currently on Breakthrough.
Jasper
Jasper who arrived from Thailand approximately a month ago was quite nervous of people he didn’t know. He has really surprised us with his improvement. He has grown in confidence around new people and while shy and still choosing not to interact with everyone he doesn’t know, he is much happier to approach strangers, especially if there is a tasty treat around. He is still looking for a new home and we hope someone will find space in their family for him soon.
Sam – 2yr old springer spaniel
Sam is on his second visit with us. He is a very busy dog that can never have enough to do. He has poor impulse control but also some quite severe separation-related problems. Interestingly this manifests itself more in the home environment than a kennel. He started on breakthrough last week and is looking for a home where he will never be left alone and where he will be kept busy, possibly in a working gundog type home or with someone very interested in scent work etc.
